Value Proposition and the Class Blog

The main focus of last Monday’s seminar was to discus business models and in particular the value proposition that is at the center of these models.

With reference to the slide show by Alex Osterwalder we learnt that the value proposition is not one thing but an overall view of the company’s products and services. Consequently when we applied the value proposition to our class blog, by looking at whom the blog is for and who can post on the blog we noted that we had many areas to consider. This is of importance as  Yochai Benkler’s observed in his talk on open source economics, social sharing and exchange is a source of opportunity for business, and our class blog can be seen as a marketing tool to advertise ourselves, our course and UCLAN.
